No matter what you are doing in life, a little preparation goes a long way. This is especially true for your first day of college, these 5 tips can help you get ready to tackle your first day of classes.
How to Prepare for Your First Day
- Know Where Your Classes Are – If possible it is a good idea to walk around the campus before the first day of class. Knowing exactly where each room is will help you make it to classes on time and help you keep your cool.
- Get Some Sleep – Turning up for your first day of classes so tired that you can’t keep your eyes open is never a good idea. Make sure your apartment is quiet at night and that you can get enough sleep the night before so that you are alert during classes.
- Coordinate Roommate Schedules – It is a good idea to talk to your roommate to find out what time they will be leaving for the day. You can than coordinate a bathroom and kitchen schedule for your apartment so you are not getting in each others way as you get ready.
- Have a Place to Keep Notes – Whether it is a laptop or a notebook you are going to need to jot down notes during classes. Your professors are likely to drop a whole lot of information on you the first day and those notes will become invaluable.
- Take a Time Out – Don’t forget to add a little relaxation time into your first day. Those first classes can be hectic, make time to sit by the apartment pool for an hour or get together with new friends for some down time.
