Where do I pay my rent? |
|
Rental payments can be made at the MadHouse, in our leasing office at 780 Madison Avenue. You may drop your payment in the white mail drop slot, take it inside to our accounting department, or mail the check to our office. The mailing address is: Management Services Corporation, P.O. Box 5186, Charlottesville, VA 22905. For overnight deliveries, the physical mailing address is: Management Services Corporation, 780 Madison Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
Please note that if you plan to mail the check, it will be considered late if received after the 5th. Please remember to put your apartment number on the check.

What are the MSC Leasing Office hours? |
|
Office hours at the MadHouse Leasing Center are:
Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m
Sunday: CLOSED (September-May)
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (June-August)
Holiday Hours:
Monday December 24, 2012: Closed
Tuesday December 25, 2012: Closed
Tuesday January 1, 2013: Closed

How long do I have after the first of the month to pay rent before I am charged a late fee? |
|
According to your Lease Agreement, a late fee of $45.00 will be charged to your account if your rent payment has not been received by the 5th of the month. |

Can we pay our rent with separate checks? |
|
Due to the large number of residents living with MSC, we ask that rent be paid with one check. |
|
| 6. |
Can I pay my rent with my credit card? |
|
We now accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Please click here to pay your rent online using a credit card.
There is a third-party subscriber fee of $17.95.
Credit cards can now also be used to pay rent that is more than ten days late. Previously, the only way to pay late rent was with cash or certified check.
Please note: rent payments are required to be paid in ONE payment regardless of whether or not a credit card is used. |

What do I do if I lock myself out of my apartment? |
|
During the regular office hours, you are in luck! Simply stop by the Leasing Office at 780 Madison Avenue, show your ID (your name must be on the lease), and we will allow you to borrow a set of keys to your apartment. These keys must be returned by the close of business that day.
After business hours you must call the Maintenance Emergency number at 971-6811. A fee will be charged for this service. |

Am I allowed to have a pet where I live? |
|
***Residents must receive PRIOR APPROVAL from the property manager and sign a pet addendum in order to have a pet in their apartment***
FEES
1 pet - $150 non-refundable pet fee and $20 monthly pet rent
2 pets - $200 non-refundable pet fee and $30 monthly pet rent
NOT ALLOWED AT ANY PROPERTY
Vicious/Dominant Breeds: Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Chow-Chow, Wolf Hybrids, or Mixed Breeds of any of these (exception: Woodslodge- no breed restrictions)
PROPERTY SPECIFIC POLICIES
All properties have a limit of 2 pets per apartment, except Woodslodge which has a limit of 3 pets per cottage.

Dogs and Cats (No Weight Limit):

Caged animals such as hamsters, gerbils, small reptiles, guinea pigs and fish tanks (under 20 gallons) do not require a pet addendum or any further fees. Fish tanks 20-50 gallons are permitted on ground floors only. For fish tanks larger than 50 gallons, property manager should be contacted. Ferrets and rabbits also need to be approved by a property manager.

Can we hang pictures and/or wallpaper or paint our apartment? |
|
You can hang pictures as long as you use small nails. We consider the holes that small nails leave to be normal wear and tear. More permanent alterations to your apartment, such as wallpapering or painting, need prior written permission from your property manager.

How do I get a parking permit for my car? |
|
In general, to obtain a parking permit with MSC you MUST bring in a current vehicle registration (not expired) and a valid driver's license. For restrictions and details, please call your Property Manager at (434) 977-2702. |

How do I get a key to the clubhouse? |
|
Each resident is entitled to one key for access to the clubhouse. To obtain a clubhouse key, please bring your photo ID and the required $10 key fee to the leasing office. Also, you will need to sign the clubhouse agreement forms.

How does a sublease work? |
|
Subleases are allowed for a maximum of three months on a Lease Agreement. There will be a sublease fee of $75.00 and a $35.00 application fee for the applicant. MSC will qualify the subtenant according to current qualification procedures. All residents on the current lease and the subtenant must sign the appropriate paperwork for the procedure to be completed. If the paperwork has to be completed through email, fax or over 24 hours in the office, there will be a $75 administrative fee assessed to the account. |

How do I get a pool pass? |
|
Residents of Oxford Hill, Cambridge Square, Ashtree, Preston Square, Rugby McIntire, Maupin, Cambridge House and the Pointe at 14th Street have access to a community pool. You must have a pool pass in order to use your community pool. Please visit the Leasing Office to obtain your pool pass. You will need to bring a photo ID and a Marketing Associate will assist you in completing the Pool Hold Harmless Agreement. |

My apartment is submetered. Do I need to set up my utilities? |
|
Cambridge Square, Preston Square, Wellington Court and Ashtree Apartments and Town Homes are submetered. Management Services Corporation will set up your water, sewer and gas service through a third party company called The Billing Associates (follow the links in our Mover's Guide). You will receive a bill directly from The Billing Associates for these utilities. You will still need to set up your electricity (required), cable (optional), Internet (optional), and phone service (optional). |
